A Novel Self-Tuning Fuzzy Logic-Based PID Controllers for Two-Axis Gimbal Stabilization in a Missile Seeker

Tracking a target is an essential function of seeker for missiles. The tracking mechanism consists gimbals, mounted with gyroscopes, and antenna or some other energy receiving devices such as radar, infrared (IR), laser. Stabilization gimbal necessary any guided missile to maintain the device always pointing towards target. For stabilization system, several control methods have been employed making follow input rate command by eliminating all disturbances. Here, new self-tuning fuzzy logic-based proportional, integral, derivative (PID) controller introduced two-axis manoeuvring missile. proposed method involves tuning gains PID based on logic rule bases considering body rotation. performance loops has verified through MATLAB simulations compared conventional controller. simulation results show response system met requirements controllers but not controllers.
